The Concerto No.2 for Piano, written in 1937 and noted by legendary critic Hans Keller for being ‘passionately dramatic and lyrical’, this work was crucial in securing early posthumous success for Skalkottas. Following on from his successful rendition of the epic Piano Concerto No.3, Douglas Madge undertakes the demanding solo part alongside the BBC Symphony Orchestra and revered Skalkottas interpreter, Christodoulou.
