Peter Anders would have been 100 this year on July 1st. Regrettably, he died much earlier, after a car accident in 1954, just when he was at the peak of his singing career. Peter Ander’s lyric tenor voice is still regarded as unique today and his reputation is shared only by a chosen few. The occasion gives us cause to use the latest techniques to remaster a number of his most important recordings from the 1940s, while taking every caution not to destroy their original quality. The minimization of intrusive noises allows Ander’s voice to be experienced in full in both lieder and opera. This 3 CD set is a must for all fans of good singing.
