This special 2CD set has been compiled to celebrate the 80th birthday (2005) of the illustrious conductor Sir Charles Mackerras.

 

This set includes Sir Charles’s very first recording from 1951 Pineapple Poll, and all the works included are being released for the first time on CD.

 

Both discs are very generously filled, totalling over 160 minutes of music, all of which have been remastered at Abbey Road.
