J. S. BACH / C. P. E. BACH
Works for organ and oboe
André Isoir - Organ
Michel Giboureau - Oboe
The common element among the variety of stylistically and formally divergent works that make up this album is the appealing sound of the organ and oboe played together, a sound which readily conveys a wide range of feeling. Compositions by two members of the Bach family, written at different times and for different reasons, tie the programme together. All illustrate the particular aesthetic of 18th-century Germany.
