The first in a series of recordings on authentic instruments of the music which J.S.Bach had in his library.  This was an international collection and gives us a superb snapshot of the music that shaped his genius.  Hengelbrock worked for many years with Harnoncourt’s Concentus Musik Wien and formed the authentic instrument band and choir Balthasar-Neumann Ensemble.
