Holliger, Kagel, Rihm, Widmann, Vasks and many others have all written compositions for the International ARD Music Competition. Each of these 10-minute works for soloists of various genres gives an outstanding impression of its composer’s individual style. This CD contains a selection of these significant solo works, documenting the current status of such contemporary “small forms”.
