Ricercar Consort / Philippe Pierlot
In 1985, the Ricercar Consort made their first tour with J.S. Bach's Musicalisches Opfer, and as a result is internationally known for its interpretation of cantatas and instrumental music of the German Baroque.
The line-up here includes Katharine Fuge, Gardiner's soprano of choice for much of the Bach pilgrimage series, who makes her Edinburgh Festival debut this year in The Creation with Roger Norrington. She, and bass Stephan Macleod, will perform with Philippe Hereweghe's Collegium Vocale later in the year. Their previous recording met with enthusiastic reactions from the public and press.
