With the 15th anniversary of Leonard Bernstein’s death on October 14th this year, Deutsche Grammophon pays tribute to this master conductor, composer, and teacher with the release of the complete Mahler cycle on DVD.

 

The complete Mahler cycle - plus Das Lied von der Erde - appears on 4 double-DVD sets as well as part of a 9-DVD Collectors Box, which is supplemented with an exclusive bonus DVD of rehearsal footage available only in this 9-DVD box.

 

These DVDs provide an added visual dimension that illustrates Bernstein’s distinctive conducting style and the nature of the interpretive stamp he brought to bear on one of his favourite composers.
