Ingrid Fliter
The international spotlight has been focused on Ingrid Fliter ever since she won the 2006 Gilmore Artist Award, only the fifth pianist to have been honoured in this way. Ingrid follows in the pianistic footsteps of Leif Ove Andsnes and Piotr Anderszewski, the two most recent Gilmore winners. Ingrid is also participating in the BBC's "New Generation Artist" programme.
Her recital CD release is probably the most hotly anticipated debut album of this year amongst the core classical community. The release of a digital EP containing part of the CD repertoire has raised her profile in the UK media since its release in January at a time of increasing focus on digital downloads in the classical world. A second digital EP will coincide with the CD release.
"In her readings of familiar Chopin repertoire, Fliter displays a rare spontaneity, lightness and feeling for subtle nuances. The approach catches the ear instantly and beguiles it with tonal beauty." Music Week
“‘Fliter is very much her own person, with essential sparks of individual imagination that show a fertile mind as well as a phenomenal technique at work … In the second half came a Chopin group that was simply spellbinding. The music seemed to flow from her with an utterly natural lyrical impulse, graced with power, luminous delicacy and a spectrum of tonal colouring that combined to mark her out as one of the most instinctive and eloquent Chopin interpreters playing today’” Daily Telegraph
