Roland Wilson, Musica Fiata, La Capella Ducale

 

A superb performance of the only surviving oratorio by Dieterich Buxtehude, regarded as a masterpiece of the German Baroque period. As director of the early music ensembles La Capella Ducale and Musica Fiata of Cologne, Roland Wilson has now authentically reconstructed the work based on the original manuscript. Cornelia Samuelis’ clear, pure voice and tasteful ornamentation in the prima donna role is the vocal highlight.
