Mullova first played with IGA 3 years ago and was so excited by the experience that she completely revised her technique to suit the Baroque style

 

Mullova already shows her credentials in period violin playing from her outstanding successes in Mozart Concertos with OAE and Beethoven/Mendelssohn Concertos with John Eliot Gardiner/ORR

 

This is not Mullova’s first excursion into the period-instrument world but it is certainly her most successful: a thrilling coming-together of a top ensemble and a violinist of spectacular virtuosity (and the taste to direct that virtuosity to best effect). As so often with Vivaldi concertos there are discoveries aplenty to be made.
