This recording provides an overview of the arrangements of Bach’s works for organ, ranging from those written by the composer himself to contemporary transcriptions. The selection was based on the unique qualities of the organ at Durlach (near Karlsruhe), an instrument that combines the tonal characteristics of the Baroque, Late-Romantic German and Symphonic- French traditions and is suitable to perform a wide range of organ literature.
