Louis de Bernieres’ novel, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, sold in its millions, and was made into a successful film. This CD, of music mentioned in Bernieres’ books, is a delightful pot-pourri from various composers around the globe. It received much media attention at the time of its release, not only because of its connection with the novelist (who wrote a note for the accompanying booklet), but also because of the quality of the music and the magical playing from Craig Ogden and Alison Stephens.
