Oliver Hancock and Timothy Parsons organists

The Chapel Choir of Selwyn College, Cambridge / Sarah MacDonald

The first recording entirely devoted to the choral music of Alan Bullard, an established British composer writing music in all genres – instrumental, orchestral, and vocal.

Largely published by Oxford University Press, this new recording features a varied collection of his recent sacred choral music, suitable for use throughout the church’s year, including his 2012 large-scale cantata Wondrous Cross.

Sung by the highly-accomplished Chapel Choir of Selwyn College, Cambridge, directed by Sarah MacDonald, and including a setting of the Evening Canticles written for them.

All of the works on this disc are new to the commercial CD catalogue.

'Alan Bullard writes music that is delightful to learn, and a pleasure for the listener' Philip Brunelle, The American Organist Magazine

‘Alan Bullard is one of those quiet composers who, almost unnoticed, goes about his business year on year writing effective, attractive, and eminently performable music in just about any genre he turns his pen to.’ Matthew Greenall, Classical Music Magazine
