From Tuscany, Filippeschi spent much of his career singing in Mexico, South America, Spain and Portugal. He excelled in the heroic Verdi repertoire and was particularly renowned for his portrayals of Manrico (Il Trovatore) and Radames (Aida).
The recordings here are from the Cetra studio sessions 1952 and the Italian Radio recordings of 1956. Arias by Rossini, Verdi, Puccini and Giordano are included.
