Hagen Quartett

"What there was recorded heard with great care, in the Berlin Siemens-Villa is a fascinating and energy, a sharper intensity of expression and a notification will, which allows for a second routine can. Here you mitvollziehen as listeners exciting, what it means music to "make" does not, but to live." (Karl Harb, Salzburger Nachrichten, January 31, 2011)Interview by Jörg Königsdorf

Could we say that the anniversary CD embodies in a nutshell that for which the quartet stand?

Absolutely. The CD shows an example of what we as musicians is now important, not only on the choice of repertoire, especially from the interpretation approach. When Mozart is certainly the desire for increased drama - in a sense, as we had not done before. We are doing now much harder to portray things as breaks, pauses, and certain emotional dissonance in the most extreme phenomena aptly. This could be one to one course applied to Webern - although it is on this music so fundamentally obvious that it comes to extreme emotional states. And in Beethoven is what we also encourage to bring a similar, deeply personal feelings expressed: that is looking the one in the second set, the connection to his God, no matter how you call this God might now. In this emotional unconditional then lies the common thread that runs through the three pieces.

In addition, the combination of Beethoven-Mozart-weavers of course is a program that is highly representative for us.
