Unusually, these beautiful master pieces are to be heard in their original score and uniquely bringing the organ hurdy-gurdy back to life. No organ hurdy-gurdy (lira organizzate) was in working order so the Ensemble had one rebuilt with the result being heard on this new CD from Laborie. The whole of this CD is devoted to composers who glorified the instrument, in particular, Haydn, who composed five concerti and eight notturni. Discoveries on this CD include works by Orgitano and Pleyel.
