PeterLea-Cox has been the Musical Director of the Cam den Cham ber Choir since 1984. He is also the founder and musical director of the Lecosald iEnsemble,a professional group of players and singers. In addition, he has an active freelance career, including, oflate, organ-playing and chora lconducting tours in Denmark and the USA, and being an exam inerfo rAssociated Board of Music.

Peter’s rich and varied career as a teacher, composer and keyboard player has included:teacher of choral conducting, keyboard skills and sight-singing at the Roya lAcademy of Music; Director of Music at StJude-onthe- Hill,Hampstead Garden Suburb; organistat St Mary-at-Hillin the City, and Cantorat StAnne & StAgnes on Gresham Street. In these last two positions he is wellknown form asterm inding the Bach Vespers, a series of Bach cantata performances in concert and in their correct liturgical position in services.

Although the ‘Six Songs of Gerard Manley Hopkins’were written as a stand-alone set,the choice of the ‘Eight Seasonal Anthems’and the ‘Collected Songs’was mined from a rich source of Lea-Cox oeuvres. The huge range of variety and style presented on this CD is quite deliberate, trying to give a fair representation of Peter’s many musical voices. The dissonance of Winter Prelude for example, is in marked contrastto the sing-a-long refrain of Letthe season lift the spirit.

Lesley-Jane Rogers soprano is heralded as one of the most versatile soloists of today, and is renowned for her captivating and evocative performances. An established concert soloist, she specialises in oratorio, “vocal concertos” solo cantatas, recitals and contemporary music, and has a vast repertoire of several hundred works.

Described as a “highly accomplished… delightfully buoyant pianist” (Benjam in Ivry, International Piano, January/February 2008), pianist Jennie-Helen Moston is enjoying a busy and varied musical career. Having studied from a young age at Chetham ’s School o fMusic, Manchester, she went on to receive an MA from the University of Cambridge before completing her studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with Distinction.
