This release combines several rare, outstanding sessions by Carmen McRae - made between December 1955 and August 1958 - all under the musical direction of top arranger-conductor, Ralph Burns, leading an orchestra that included a 10-piece string section.
These recordings are brilliantly augmented by the presence of tenor sax giant, Ben Webster - who for contractual reasons was only credited as ‘A Tenorman’ on the original release.
Total Time: 75:33 mins. - 24 tracks (including 8 bonus) - 20-bit remastered - previously reissued on Lonehill Jazz.
