The sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, the English have produced a highly original music, shapes and cultivating a spirit quite unique. This spirit was marked by melancholy, a disposition of the soul then raging across the continent, but that would characterize more specifically intellectual products, literature and music of the British Isles, the most obscure to those of Shakespeare, Dowland, Milton and Purcell. This disc consists of Anthems and Songs of the time, reveals the most beautiful works.
Under the artistic direction of Matthew White, training Voices is a collection of Baroque chamber music professional who is dedicated to the interpretation of historically documented unexplored directories for voices and instruments and Baroque eras of the Renaissance. Alexander Weimann is currently artistic director of the Pacific Baroque Orchestra, and also one of the soloists, chamber musicians and directors of all the most sought after now.
