New Label Liverpool Philharmonic builds on a long history of successful in-house recordings with RLPO Live which was established in 1998 by musicians of the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. The RLPO were the first UK orchestra to launch its own recording label.
The award-winning Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra is the UK's oldest surviving professional symphony orchestra and has been at the heart of Liverpool’s cultural life since 1840.
Vasily Petrenko is the Classical BRIT Awards Male Artist of the Year 2010 and was the Classic FM/Gramophone Young Artist of the Year 2007.
Vasily Petrenko brings the experience of his wide operatic repertoire to this performance of Un Mari à la Porte, recorded live at the first staged performance in Britain of Offenbach’s comic opera at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall in 2008, presented in a double bill with Wolf-Ferrari’s Il segreto di Susanna (Susanna’s Secret).
