Thucydides’s History of the Peloponnesian War is one of the most famous, influential, and moving works of genuine history in our traditions. This uses the classic 19th-century translation by Richard Crawley, abridged by Ian Johnston. Ian has also translated Ovid’s Metamorphoses (ISBN: 9781843796312), which will be released in October 2012.
