These NBC telecasts were recorded at a series of ten concerts that Toscanini gave with the NBC Symphony Orchestra during a period from 1948 to 1952.

Testament are now releasing these unique visual documents on five DVDs, each disc containing two of the concerts.

Volume One comprises the first two concerts which took place in March and April of 1948 in NBC’s Studio 8H.

Toscanini was one of the great conductors of the 20th century and these films give us a unique opportunity to observe the Maestro working his magic with the NBC Orchestra, with which he worked for the final 17 years of his career.

Toscanini was renowned for his energy, single-mindedness, impetuosity and fanatical perfectionism.

To be able to see these qualities in operation is a fascinating experience that no lover of great musicianship should miss.
