Francesc Valls (c. 1671-1747) is one of the great exponents of Hispanic baroque music. He was choirmaster at Barcelona Cathedral during 1696-1726 at a time when the Cathedral was one of the most important musical centres in Europe. Prolific and polemic, Valls has been the object of recent research. Some of his works have been recorded, but there is a shocking disproportion between the quality of his music and the attention paid to it. Exaudi nos, here present two masses composed in Barcelona at the beginning of the 18th century.
